Engagement or Bridal

- Each additional shoot, such as bridal portrait or engagement. These shoots include either digital negatives OR a complimentary print (8x12 or 11x14) with option of online proofing on request.
Rehearsal Dinners

- Due to the variety in length and complexity of rehearsal dinners, I'm now billing them hourly, minimum 2 hours. You will receive online print ordering (example), and additionally may choose 100 4x6 proofs per hour or digital negatives on disc.

Custom-designed Albums

- There's a custom album for almost any budget. Rather than try and list all the possibilities here, please discuss your album preferences with David to get a custom quote. Example: A leather-bound 12x12 or 14x10 album in matted or flush mount style with 10 leaves (20 pages) is offered at $1200. 20 sides (40 pages) offered at $1950.
Coffee Table Book

(Incidentally, I get asked a lot what makes a professional lab "worth it." It's not the paper--many "consumer" labs use the same papers. It's more about the lab's color management policies, how they communicate those to photographers, and how they maintain their chemicals. Now you know!).
The following notes answer some very frequently asked questions about how the packages work. Enjoy!
- 1. David Hill, the primary photographer, attends weddings and events nationwide and worldwide. For certain locations, travel costs might make the assistant photographer an impractical choice for you. In those cases, we can quote without the assistant photographer.
- 2. The digital negative DVD will contain all the post-edit, full size, hi-res photos in print-ready JPEG format (though we shoot RAW to ensure quality, RAW is not a print-ready format). "Post-edit" means a few things. First, that we remove a portion of pictures due to redundancy, people blinking, or extremely unflattering moments. Second, that all RAW shots are color and contrast corrected for best quality. Some will be presented black-and-white, at the artist's discretion. The exact number of post-edit pictures will depend on your event, but is likely to be between 600 and 1,000. No particular number is guaranteed.
- 3. The number of proof prints included in a given package does not limit the number of photos David will make available to you to choose from. Example: You order The Photo Essay package, David uploads 703 pictures of your wedding, and you use Pictage to choose the 200 that you want David to give you. Or, for a nominal fee, you may purchase additional proofs on a one-time basis.
- 4. You may choose to use a credit as print credit or album credit. If the package already includes an album, it will automatically be print credit. "Print credit" is issued by the photographer via the Pictage online ordering system as a gift certificate to the client. "Album credit" may be deducted from an album price when purchasing an album a la carte.
- 5. What do "coffee table" and album mean? For purpose of this discussion, a "coffee table" book has soft pages, and an "album" has hard, more complexly constructed pages. This is the distinguishing feature. Both feature a custom layout. Coffee table books do not have leather covers by default, though it is available as an upgrade if you ask.
