6.27.08 - The Knot, Web Updates
If you look at the current edition of The Knot's Texas edition, you'll find Eleanor and Adam's wedding in there! And, did you notice the fancy new URL I have going here? On that note, I'm quietly working on a new website. If you like this one, don't worry, it won't go away. I like it, too. I just want to divide my content up some more.
5.04.08 - Phi Beta Kappa Initiation
Congrats to UT's latest Phi Beta Kappa inductees! I wish I could use the word "brethren" in the last sentence, but alas, at least I went to school for free. And as soon as I finish this, I'm googling all of David Oshinsky's old news articles. Oh, but you're here for photos, right? The photos are now Online Here. Simply enter your email address to access the event.
3.07.08 - Fun Blog Stuff
January and February were supposed to be the slow time of year, but in the last three months I've won two WPJA awards and had brushes with Obama, Will Ferrell, and our esteemed mayor, Will Wynn. Additionally, I've decided to now officially offer onsite-printing of party pictures and specialty ultra-high-resolution large group photos similar to the ones of past.
3.06.09 - New WPJA Award!
This is my second consecutive quarter, and fourth of the last eight, to place a top 10 photo in the prestigious Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) quarterly contest. Check it out on the blog.
3.05.09 - I dislike Internet Explorer
A Public Service Announcement to help guard your aesthetic experience and personal security while browsing Austin photographer websites: Due to the Classic Microsoft Attitude, Internet Explorer (IE) does not follow many of the standard rules of web design, which requires an Austin photographer to cleverly hide alternate code versions in his pages just to make IE work correctly. Due to this burden, many Austin photographer sites on the Internet will appear incorrectly if you are using IE. David Hill recommends that you download Firefox and set it as your default browser. Safari is also good. No one browser will display all Austin photographer websites correctly, so you should always have at least two browsers installed on your computer. Lastly, IE is the browser most targeted by hackers and has the most well-known cases of security holes, so you're better off when you use it less.

We highly recommend David. He is a very talented photographer that made us feel at ease, but at the same time confident that he was capturing all the memorable moments. He was great to work with!
We got married this past November and had David do our Wedding and Engagement photos. Without exaggerating... David is to photography what Kandinsky is to painting (j/k).
We could not be happier with our wedding and engagement photos. We discussed out style with David and he captured exactly what we wanted and more. The wedding photos capture the emotion of the day and the fun of the reception. Everyone who has seen them is amazed with the quality of the shots and the vibrance of the colors.
The engagement session was one of the most fun days my wife and I have ever had. We were shooting in 100 degree weather and it was a blast. I am outgoing but my wife is reserved and a bit camera shy. David made her feel at ease and gave us exactly what we were looking for. The photos show expressions of joy and laughter that can not be obtained through phony poses.
When we first saw David's website, we wanted to use him but hired someone else to save a bit of money. After the worst engagement session ever with the other guy, we fired the other guy (and lost our $600 deposit) and hired David like we should have done from the beginning. We like David as a person and he was perfect at the wedding. He got the photos without being bossy or getting in the way.
